PCT Patent

The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) has been organised by WIPO in order to reduce of the effort and costs accelaration of patent application both for applicants and national Patent Office.

PCT (The Patent Cooperation Treaty)

The Patent Cooperation Treaty is an agreement for international cooperation in the field of patents that has been signed by 152 countries since 2013. Turkey was involved in the agreement in 1996. One of the advantages offered by the PCT ensures patent application more easily and quickly in party countries the reason is that the PCT makes it possible to protect of an invention concurrently in each of countries by a single "international application". Therefore an applicant doesn't need to seek a national offices or attorneys of an other country and translate language of that country.

The PCT procedure includes;

First Process

Second Process:

  • Supplementary International Search (optional)
  • International Preliminary Examination (optional)

International Preliminary Examination

At your request obtain an opinion as to whether meets any or all of criteria of patentability. The opinion on the patentability of the invention  ensures the applicant with an even reliable and high percent of potential of obtaining a patent. 

The required documents of PCT application are forwarded to the in the appropriate Receiving Office.The appropriate Receiving Office examines the application and a copy of application is sent an patent office under the WIPO. The results of the international preliminary examination are given by the international elected office to aplicant.

National Phase

After the publication, it is entered the national phase. After the process, applicant demands attorney or the national or regional patent Offices according to patent law and regulations of concerned counrty. Therefore  your application steps in consonance with national patent laws and regulations of concerned country.

With the PCT patent system provides easier reach the information and it offers major advantages in filing and costs.
